25 km of well-prepared ski runs for beginners & pros, 1100 m of altitude difference and 2,625 m of panoramic splendour from the top. How to get to the Schwemmalm? Take the free bus (bus stop only 100 m from our hotel) to the valley station in Pracupola, 4 km away and a 5-minute drive from the Hotel Schweigl. Get on the lift and enjoy the winter fun!

Tramping through fresh snow
For non-skiing snow lovers: Away from groomed trails and ski slopes, the Ultental Valley invites you to beautiful winter hikes and snowshoeing tours.
Are you hungry? Then you have to eat in the surrounding mountain huts & restaurants - your palate will be grateful!
No snowshoes with you? You can rent them free of charge at our hotel!
Adrenaline-filled ski tours in the Ultental Valley
Lots of glittering snow and exciting mountains: are you ready for a challenging ski tour in the Ultental Valley? A small winter paradise with unique panoramic views.
Are you an experienced cross-country skier or a beginner? Depending on the snow conditions, you can enjoy a 12 to 25 km long route in classic or modern (skating) style on the Ultental Valley cross-country trail. Idyllic villages such as S. Gertrude, S. Niccolò and S. Valburga will provide the perfect backdrop along the way!
Looking for an adventourous sledging run to whizz down? The Moscha natural toboggan run near the Schwemmalm-Ultental ski area
takes you from the Steinrast alpine hut (1723 m) down to 1580 metres. During the winter sports season, the Moscha toboggan runis illuminated every Wednesday nightand invites you to toboggan in the evening - an experience not to be missed!
Little tobogganers can whizz down the artificial snow track laid out below the Moscha natural toboggan run: 500 m long, 30 m difference in altitude & endless kilometres of fun!
For ice princes & princesses
Fancy floating on ice surrounded by pure winter magic? In the small village of Pracupola, approx. 4 km from S. Valburga and closed to the Lake Zoccolo and the Schwemmalm valley station, there‘s a beautiful ice rink where you can also play hockey - a nice surprise for all skating fans!
Whether a visit to the Bressanone Christmas market or a museum tour - for example to the Ötzi Museum in Bolzano; whether a spa day at the Merano Thermal Baths or a shopping tour under the city arcades of Bolzano - South Tyrol doesn't get boring in winter either! Picturesque towns and suggestive mountain villages envelop you in a magical atmosphere and invite you to simply switch off and enjoy that unique "just like back then" flair.
Climbing in San Pancrazio
Brand new and challenging - the climbing hall in San Pancrazio only opened in June 2021, but is already very popular with sports and mountain enthusiasts. An exciting climbing towerand a very nice bouldering area await you for adventurous indoor climbing!
Paragliding in Val d‘Ultimo – a breathtaking experience
Feel as free as a bird and fly high above the mountain peaks of the Ultental Valley. Günther Garber, experienced paragliding pilot, will accompany you on this breathtaking paragliding experience.
This family-friendly winter attraction is located at the valley station of the Schwemmalm ski resort: in the Schwemmy Kinderland, little ski & toboggan enthusiasts can enjoy themselves on snowy slopes and on 2 modern conveyor lifts - cheered on by the Schwemmy Bear mascot!
And while kids play, slide and glide in the Schwemmy Snow World, adults can enjoy the mild winter sun on the terrace nearby - what more could you want?
Skiing holiday with VIPs
The Schwemmalm is not only the home of ski champion & Kitzbühel winner Dominik Paris, but also of other athletes from the Ultental Valley competing in the Ski World Cup.
Moreover, the Schwemmalm is a popular training location for the Alpine Ski World Cup. So it’s not uncommon to see famous ski athletes from Italy, Austria, Norway, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Canada, France, the USA ... For example Dominik Paris -our ski star from the Ultental Valley! -, but also Aksel Lund Svindal, Kjetil Jansrud, Hannes Reichelt, Vincent Kriechmayr, Lindsey Vonn, Giulia Mancuso, Lara Gut, Eric Guay and many others, who enjoy the excellent snow conditions in the ski resort.
